Job Summary

HR Strategy Policy & Compliance

  • Contribute to developing and executing the Group HR strategy aligned to corporate strategy
  • Prepare and monitor the annual HR budget
  • Formulate review and implement HR policies SOPs guidelines and employee handbooks
  • Maintain HR risk registers and recommend mitigation actions
  • Manage relationships with internal and external HR stakeholders

Organization Development & Design

  • Develop and implement organization development frameworks covering structure reviews job analysis and role clarity
  • Support leadership in designing optimal structures reporting lines and resourcing models
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR workflows and promote technology-enabled service delivery
  • Lead employee engagement and organizational health surveys and recommend interventions

Workforce Planning Succession & HR Analytics

  • Coordinate and update the Strategic Workforce Plan for optimal staffing
  • Lead quarterly succession planning reviews for critical and leadership roles
  • Support leadership development initiatives across all levels
  • Use HR data to identify talent gaps turnover risks and productivity opportunities
  • Establish HR data governance standards and prepare monthly quarterly and annual HR dashboards

Culture Change & Employee Engagement

  • Develop and implement culture change management and employee engagement initiatives
  • Support planning and monitoring of in-country culture and change initiatives
  • Oversee implementation of employee engagement action plans
  • Promote transparent communication and employee voice mechanisms

Talent Management

  • Design and implement recruitment selection deployment and onboarding plans
  • Coordinate performance management frameworks including goal setting appraisals and calibration
  • Work with Functional Heads to develop Competence Frameworks
  • Lead Training Needs Analysis and coordinate learning and development plans
  • Coordinate Compensation & Benefits frameworks recognition programs and incentive schemes
  • Manage staff welfare schemes leave administration and employee assistance programs

Employee Lifecycle Administration & HR Staff Management

  • Ensure accurate and compliant HR administration across the full employee lifecycle
  • Provide guidance on employee relations grievances disciplinary processes and conflict resolution
  • Oversee exit processes including resignations terminations and exit interviews
  • Develop and monitor annual quarterly and monthly HR work plans
  • Coach mentor and supervise HR staff for high-quality service delivery
  • Promote teamwork accountability and continuous learning within the HR function


Requirements

  • An Honors Bachelors degree in; Human Resource Management Organizational
  • Psychology Social Work and Social Administration (SWSA) Social Sciences Business
  • Administration or related field from a recognized academic institution.
  • A Minimum of Eight (8) years of progressive HR experience working in a busy HR
    environment Three (03) years of which should have been attained at a Managerial
    level position in a reputable organization.
  • A relevant postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management
  • Organizational Development or relevant field from a recognized academic institution.
  • Proven exposure to HR Strategy development and implementation
  • Proven experience in leading and implementing organizational change programs
  • OD projects to deliver workforce transformation Performance Management Culture
  • Employee Engagement and Rewards and Recognition programs.
  • Knowledge of the Labor Laws of Uganda
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Oracle or SAP.
  • Exposure to multi-country HR operations is an added advantage
  • Membership to a recognized HR professional body
  • Knowledge and use of AI applications in HR work will be an added advantage
  • High level of organizational capability and demonstrated maturity in handling self and
  • dealing with diverse people within and outside the organization.
  • Firm assertive and able to handle difficult clients and scenarios.
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Strong problem diagnosis and problem-solving skills
  • Tech savvy with advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Proactive and able to work under pressure with minimum supervision.
