Title: Contract Manufacturing Quality Manager

Location: Samut Sakhon Thailand

Core Responsibility:

Serve as the customers on-site quality leader at its contract manufacturing partner ensuring the customers quality standard is met on every line and every build of its electronic devices.

Lead and develop the on-site quality engineering team setting coverage across lines shifts and builds giving each engineer clear ownership and holding a high bar on the quality of their work.

Direct day-to-day quality operations across the full production process: incoming components in-process controls including statistical process control (SPC) electronics assembly final assembly and test outgoing product and ongoing reliability testing all executed against the customers quality assurance specifications.

Own day-to-day product release decisions holding shipments when the data says hold and keeping production moving when the risk is managed.

Monitor process data across the lines building the customers product and act on drift and deterioration before it becomes a field problem.

Own the site-level view of the contract manufacturing master issues list: raise issues quickly put containment in place and drive root cause analysis with the contract manufacturers engineers.

Execute change control on the ground ensuring any contract manufacturer-led change to a part process material or equipment is caught reviewed and validated before it enters production.

Work daily with the contract manufacturers quality and production management holding them to the customers standard while building a relationship that makes quality a shared goal.

Collaborate closely with the customers Supplier Quality team and its hardware design and operations teams in Auckland New Zealand.

Serve as a hands-on leader on the factory floor operating with a very high level of independence ownership and execution speed.

Key Deliverables:

A capable on-site quality engineering team with clear coverage and ownership across all lines shifts and builds.

Consistent execution of incoming in-process and outgoing quality activities and reliability testing to the customers quality assurance specifications.

Sound data-driven product release decisions that protect product quality without unnecessarily stopping production.

Early detection of process drift through SPC and ongoing monitoring of process data.

Timely closure of every issue at true root cause with early escalation to the customers quality leadership when an issue threatens production delivery or product quality.

No unapproved changes on the line: every part process material or equipment change validated through first article inspection (FAI) and process capability studies before production release.

Effective support of audits and qualification activities and clear data-backed quality reporting to the customers wider team.

A team culture where issues are raised fast and escalation is treated as a strength rather than a failure.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field.

10 years of quality engineering experience in contract manufacturing or electronics manufacturing including 5 years leading quality teams on the factory floor.

Deep working knowledge of incoming in-process and outgoing quality statistical process control and reliability testing in high-volume electronics production.

Strong root cause analysis capability with experience leading structured problem-solving with supplier and contract manufacturer engineers and closing issues only when the fix is proven.

Experience with change control and validation in a manufacturing environment including first article inspection and process capability studies.

Sound judgment on product release decisions under pressure.

Direct and clear communicator who can hold a high standard with the contract manufacturer push back on inadequate fixes and keep the working relationship productive.

Low ego and comfortable with hard conversations; raises difficult issues early.

Fluent Thai and excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Experience working with a U.S. or global technology company is highly preferred.

Willingness to travel between sites as required.
