Job Summary

Position Summary

The Assistant Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day finance operations of the Thailand and Philippines entities. This role encompasses accounts payable intercompany transactions taxation and compliance payroll administration cash flow monitoring fixed assets inventory support month-end close activities and audit support. The position requires strong attention to detail effective coordination with internal and external stakeholders and the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring compliance with company policies and local statutory requirements.



Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable

  • Vendor Master Maintenance
  • Procurement Import & Export Documentation
  • Invoice Processing
  • Vendor Payments & AP Reconciliation

2. Intercompany Accounting

  • Prepare and reconcile intercompany transactions and balances across Group entities.
  • Investigate and resolve unreconciled balances missing invoices and unrecorded transactions.
  • Ensure all intercompany transactions are identified and recorded within the correct accounting period.
  • Participate in regular intercompany review meetings with shared service teams and stakeholders.
  • Monitor intercompany billing processes and identify opportunities to improve automation and accuracy.

3. Taxation and Regulatory Compliance

  • Thailand Tax Compliance
  • Withholding Tax (WHT)
  • VAT Compliance
  • Philippines Tax Support

4. Payroll Administration (Philippines)

  • Process payroll for Philippines employees.
  • Prepare payroll payment schedules and supporting reports.
  • Calculate and submit employee withholding taxes to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).
  • Ensure payroll records are accurate and maintained in accordance with statutory requirements.

5. Fixed Asset Administration

  • Maintain the fixed asset register for Thailand.
  • Create and assign asset codes.
  • Prepare and update asset labels.
  • Process additions disposals transfers and other fixed asset transactions.
  • Ensure fixed asset records are accurate and supported by appropriate documentation.

6. Inventory Support

  • Assist with periodic inventory counts and stocktakes.
  • Support half-year and year-end physical inventory verification activities.
  • Assist in resolving inventory discrepancies and maintaining accurate inventory records.

7. Financial Reporting & Month-End Close

  • Support monthly quarterly and year-end financial close processes.
  • Prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure accounting records are complete accurate and compliant with applicable accounting standards.
  • Assist in identifying and resolving accounting discrepancies and variances.

8. Audit Support

  • Provide documentation and schedules required for internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with auditors and business stakeholders to resolve audit queries.
  • Ensure audit requests are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Support audit activities for both Thailand and Philippines operations.

9. Cash Flow Management (Philippines)

  • Prepare and monitor weekly cash flow forecasts.
  • Track cash inflows and outflows and identify potential funding requirements.
  • Assist management with liquidity planning and cash management activities.


Key Requirements

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Finance or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years experience in accounting finance operations accounts payable or general ledger support.
  • Experience working in a multinational environment will be highly regarded.
  • Experience with taxation payroll and statutory compliance requirements is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems.
  • Understanding of accounts payable intercompany accounting payroll and taxation processes.
  • Ability to prepare reconciliations and analyse financial data accurately.
