Executive Chef Luxury Boutique Lodge Zanzibar

Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Executive Chef for a luxury boutique lodge in Zanzibar.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a creative and hands-on culinary professional to lead a high-performing kitchen team within a luxury hospitality environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations delivering exceptional dining experiences and maintaining the highest standards of food quality presentation and service.

The Role

The Executive Chef will take full responsibility for the management of the kitchen ensuring outstanding culinary standards while driving innovation consistency and operational efficiency. This role requires a passionate leader who can inspire a team manage costs effectively and create memorable dining experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities


Oversee all kitchen operations and food production across the property
Develop and design innovative menus in line with the lodges standards and guest expectations
Ensure exceptional food quality consistency and presentation at all times
Lead train and motivate the kitchen brigade
Manage stock control ordering and supplier relationships
Monitor food costs budgets and waste management procedures
Ensure compliance with all food safety hygiene and health regulations
Maintain efficient kitchen workflows and service standards
Conduct staff training and performance management
Collaborate with lodge management to enhance the overall guest experience
Stay current with culinary trends and introduce creative menu concepts where appropriate


Requirements


Previous experience as an Executive Chef within a luxury lodge boutique hotel or high-end hospitality environment
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent knowledge of international cuisine and contemporary culinary trends
Proven experience with menu planning cost control and kitchen administration
Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
Ability to work effectively in a remote hospitality environment
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Relevant culinary qualification essential
