Job Overview

We are seeking a talented Appian Developer to join our Application Engineering team and support the design development and maintenance of Appian-based workflow and process automation solutions. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams including consultants architects QA engineers and infrastructure specialists to deliver high-quality applications that meet client requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for building scalable business process solutions enhancing operational efficiency supporting managed services and project delivery initiatives and leveraging AI-driven approaches to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Design develop and deliver Appian solutions including process models SAIL interfacesrecords reports sites decisions and expressions in line with business requirementsfollowing platform standards and best practices for performance scalability security andmaintainability.
• Build and maintain integrations between Appian and external systems using REST/SOAPAPIs connected systems web services and database integrations alongside data modelsCDTs and smart services to support workflow and business process automation.
• Conduct unit testing debugging and performance tuning produce technical documentationsupport UAT production deployments and release coordination.
• Work closely with Application Consultants and business analysts to translate functionalrequirements into technical designs including correspondence and document generationsolutions integrated with the Appian platform and integration with SmartCOMM and other
  correspondence tooling where applicable.
• Translate business process requirements into well-structured Appian workflow solutions thatautomate streamline and improve operational processes for clients.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline existing workflows reducing manual effortand improving client outcomes.
• Apply AI-assisted tools and AI-first thinking stay current with Appian platform capabilitiesincluding Appian AI RPA and emerging low-code capabilities to improve developmentefficiency and embed automation into client solutions.
• Develop in accordance with our clientsengineering standards ensuring consistency acrossclient environments participate in code and design reviews and apply Financial Servicesrequirements and regulatory obligations and operational context relevant to our clientsclients todeliver solution design and delivery.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of Clients Appian engineering standardspatterns and reusable components.
• Engage with client stakeholders contribute to Agile ceremonies support junior developersand provide production support including diagnosis and issue resolution.

Professional Qualifications and Skills

Essential

• Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or related field.
• 2 years hands-on Appian development with demonstrable production delivery is amust.
• Appian Developer certification (Associate or higher) or equivalent demonstrated practicalexperience.
• Strong proficiency in core Appian components: SAIL Process Models Records ReportsSites Decisions Expressions and Custom Data Types.
• Experience building REST/SOAP API integrations connected systems and web services.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python Java C# -basedlanguages.
• Solid SQL and relational database skills including data modelling and query optimisation.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery frameworks including sprint planning backlogmanagement and collaborative team ceremonies.
• Strong troubleshooting debugging and communication skills across technical and nontechnical stakeholders

Highly Regarded

• Appian Senior Developer or Lead Developer certification.
• Experience with Appian RPA Appian AI features or SmartCOMM/other correspondenceplatforms.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling (GitHub Bamboo Jenkins orsimilar) cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) AI-assisted development tools (e.g. GitHub CopilotAI-assisted testing tools).
• Experience supporting or operating Appian applications in a managed services environment.
• Exposure to superannuation financial services or similarly regulated industry environments.
