Job Summary
Our client is recruiting qualified and experienced SAQCC Fire Detection (DGS) Technicians to join their branches all over South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation commissioning programming servicing maintenance and fault-finding of fire detection and sprinkler systems while ensuring compliance with all relevant SANS standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commission test service maintain and repair fire detection and sprinkler systems.
- Program configure and troubleshoot fire detection control panels.
- Diagnose and rectify system faults ensuring minimal downtime and reliable system performance.
- Conduct site surveys assess client requirements and prepare accurate quotations.
- Plan coordinate and successfully deliver installation and maintenance projects.
- Supervise and provide technical guidance to Assistant Technicians.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable SANS codes SAQCC requirements and health and safety regulations.
- Complete service reports commissioning documentation and project records accurately and on time.
- Travel to customer sites and work outside normal business hours when operational requirements demand.
- Deliver professional customer service and maintain strong client relationships.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Valid drivers licence
- Valid SAQCC Fire Detection (DGS) registration
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the installation commissioning servicing and maintenance of fire detection and sprinkler systems.
- Proven experience programming fire detection control panels.
- Previous pipe fitting experience is essential.
- Sound knowledge of applicable SANS standards and fire protection regulations.
- Ability to conduct site surveys prepare quotations and manage projects from start to completion.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent planning organisational and communication skills.
