Job Summary
Role: Publicist
Priority Location: South Africa
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri) flexible with overlap to U.S. Eastern Time (EST) for meetings and collaboration
Salary Range: $2300 - $4000 USD ($) per month (The final offer is at the clients discretion and depends on the candidates interview result skills and experience.)

About the Role:
The Publicist will be responsible for securing high-quality media placements thought leadership opportunities and speaking engagements for the firms leadership team.
This role requires someone who understands boutique relationship-driven public relations and can successfully position executives as industry experts within the higher education space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute public relations strategies aligned to business objectives
- Identify and secure media opportunities interviews podcasts and speaking engagements
- Build relationships with journalists editors publication owners and industry influencers
- Secure guest articles op-eds and thought leadership placements
- Develop media pitches and outreach campaigns
- Monitor industry news and identify timely opportunities for commentary
- Coordinate with content and marketing teams to maximize campaign impact
- Track media coverage and measure PR performance
- Support executive visibility and personal branding initiatives
Required Qualification & Skills:
- 4 years of public relations media relations or communications experience
- Demonstrated success securing earned media placements
- Strong network of media and publication relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to develop compelling story angles and media pitches
- Strong project management and stakeholder management abilities
- Experience working independently in a remote environment
