Operator Shift Control Room

As an Operator Shift Control Room you will provide services as required and your responsibilities will include but not limited to:

• Monitor CCTV cameras and initiate appropriate response to suspicious activities.
• Monitor computerised burglar and fire alarm systems and initiate appropriate responses to alarm activations.
• Monitor guard patrol monitoring systems and alert shift supervisors on any deviations.
• Update the computer-based incident logging system and generate the reports.
• Operate the 24/7 emergency number and initiate appropriate response to emergencies.
• Operate remote-controlled gate control systems.
• Operate all radio communication systems.
• Perform administration duties relating to a control room environment.
• Send an SMS to SLT or RLT in case of an emergency or incidents in the mine.
• Capture all incidents and dockets online for record purposes.

This role is in the Safety Health & Environment (SHE) discipline at a Band S4 level (C1/C2 Grade) reporting to the Security Operations Supervisor.

Qualifications :

• Grade 12/ N3
• Completion of a formal Control Room Operators course.
• Registered as a Security Officer Grade B with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority.
• Advanced CCTV Surveillance Body Language is preferred
• Valid SA Drivers Licence

Experience

• 2-3 years of relevant experience in safety/security in a control room setup preferably in a mining environment.
• Practical experience in computerised access control burglar alarm incident logging CCTV and guard monitoring systems.
• Knowledge of incident logging CCTV and guard monitoring systems.
