Operational Accountant Drive Financial Performance from the Ground Up
Are you a hands-on finance professional who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day operations of a business Our client is looking for an Operational Accountant who can combine strong technical accounting skills with a commercial mindset to support business performance and operational efficiency.This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment enjoys partnering with operational teams and wants to make a tangible impact on the success of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full accounting function including month-end and year-end processes.
- Prepare accurate management accounts and financial reports.
- Analyse operational costs margins and profitability.
- Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with budgeting forecasting and cash flow management.
- Monitor inventory stock movements and cost allocations where applicable.
- Ensure VAT PAYE and statutory compliance.
- Support internal and external audit processes.
- Develop and improve financial controls and operational processes.
- Partner with operational managers to provide financial insights that drive business decisions.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend process improvements.
- Assist with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- BCom Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Completed SAIPA or SAICA Articles will be advantageous.
- 3 years experience in a commercial or operational accounting environment.
- Strong understanding of management accounting and financial reporting.
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP Sage Oracle Microsoft Dynamics Syspro or similar.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
