Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lab Technician to join an engineering testing laboratory. This hands-on role involves operating and setting up laboratory equipment conducting materials testing and supporting forensic investigations on structures and construction materials.
Job Description:
- Operate and maintain UTM machines hydraulic testing systems and laboratory equipment
- Conduct concrete cube cylinder compressive strength and crushing tests
- Perform soil and geotechnical testing in accordance with industry standards
- Assist with forensic investigations of structural failures and material performance
- Accurately record analyse and report test results
- Ensure equipment calibration laboratory compliance and safety standards are maintained
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 5 years experience in materials testing or geotechnical laboratory
- Experience with concrete soil and hydraulic testing equipment
- Knowledge of SANS ASTM and ISO testing standards
- Strong attention to detail and reporting skills
Qualification:
NDip BTech Advanced Diploma or BSc in Civil Engineering Materials Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
