Position PurposeTransnet Freight Rail (TFR) invites suitable unemployedSouth African graduates between the ages of 18-35 to apply for a 12-18 monthsinternship programme within various functional areas to be provided with boththe institutionalised knowledge and on-the-job training to provide practicalworkplace experience to students or recent graduates helping them apply theiracademic knowledge in a real-world setting.
This role is designed to enhance employability by offering hands-on trainingmentorship and exposure to industry-specific tasks.
This exciting opportunity is aimed at all students fromregistered TVET Colleges and Higher Education Institutions who have no bursaryobligation and must have completed all theoretical training at the no prior work experience in their respective field of study.
Position OutputsSuccessful candidates will be placed for work-exposure in the following area: GqeberhaQualifications and ExperienceREQUIRED DOCUMENTS: Curriculum Vitae Certified copy of grade 12 certificate or equivalent Certified copy of qualifications/statement of results in Industrial Engineering Stamped letter from Institution requesting In-service training (where applicable) Stamped Confirmation letter for theory completion from Institution Certified copy of South African Identity Document Proof of residential address EXPERIENCE: No prior work experience is required. However applicants will undergo a recruitment process and successful candidates will be placed in various Depots Departments within TFR. Citizenship: Must be a South African AND COMPETENCIES: Candidates applying for the Internship programme should possess the following skills and competencies to succeed: Business understanding Administrative Skills Computer Skills Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team. High levels of integrity and professionalism. A customer-focused attitude towards work and problem-solving. Excellent communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Effective negotiation skills.
