Job Title: Head Chef / Kitchen Manager (Live-In Remote Boutique Property)
About the Role
We are seeking a young enthusiastic and highly motivated Head Chef to take full ownership of our kitchen operations. This is an incredible opportunity for a passionate culinary professional to step up showcase their creativity and manage a complete daily food service in a beautiful remote setting.
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality breakfast and lunch menus alongside a curated set-menu style dinner service. Beyond cooking you will run the kitchen as a business managing everything from inventory to financial cost controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Service: Hands-on preparation and execution of breakfast lunch and a high-quality set-menu dinner.
- Financial Management: Overseeing kitchen costing maintaining strict food cost percentages and implementing cost controls.
- Stock & Purchasing: Managing inventory stock rotation ordering and supplier relations keeping remote logistics in mind.
- Menu Development: Keeping menus fresh exciting and optimized for seasonal availability.
- Hygiene & Safety: Maintaining exceptionally high standards of kitchen cleanliness and food safety.
Requirements
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Formal culinary arts qualification or relevant tertiary training.
- Experience: Proven track record working in a professional kitchen with essential experience operating in a remote or wilderness location.
- Logistics: Valid drivers license and your own reliable vehicle (non-negotiable due to location).
- Attributes: Enthusiastic self-motivated financially minded and able to work independently under minimal supervision.
