FinOps Analyst Cloud Cost Optimisation & BI

FinOps Analyst (Infrastructure & Cloud Cost Management) Microsoft Tech Stack Environment

Our client is looking for a FinOps Analyst to strengthen cloud infrastructure cost management providing clear visibility of technology spend and supporting accurate cost allocation reporting and proactive cost control.
Youll work closely with Finance IT Operations Infrastructure and Procurement teams to validate cost data analyse spend trends build dashboards and support chargeback/allocation models.

• Durban (we may consider Cape Town or Pretoria-based candidates too)
• Lead the delivery of FinOps reporting dashboards and executive insights across multiple client environments.
• Cloud platforms experience: Azure / AWS / GCP

Education

• Qualifications & Certifications:
• • Bachelors degree in Information & Communications Technology (Cum Laude) or
  • Bachelors Degree in Finance Information Technology Business or a related discipline; OR
  • Advanced Diploma with professional development in financial analysis or IT operations.
  • Highly desirable:
  • Certifications in:
    • FinOps Certified Practitioner
    • FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst
    • AWS Cloud Practitioner
    • Azure Fundamentals
    • SQL Excel Windows Server and IoT (various accredited courses)

Experience (Required)

• 46 years progressive experience in financial analysis cost accounting or IT operations AND
• At least 1 year specifically focused on cloud or infrastructure cost management and monitoring.

What youll do

• Collect and validate cloud/infrastructure cost data from billing systems and vendor statements
• Reconcile costs identify discrepancies and support timely financial reporting
• Analyse monthly infrastructure spend patterns trends and cost drivers
• Build dashboards/reports (spend by cost centre vendor service type business unit)
• Support cost allocation/chargeback models using agreed usage metrics
• Track cost-control initiatives and report on savings/optimisation opportunities
• Partner with procurement/vendor management on cost and performance documentation
• Support capacity planning and forecasting using historical cost/usage trends

Strong advantage if youve worked with

• Cloud cost management platforms / billing dashboards / allocation systems
• Data visualisation and dashboarding (with strong Excel capability)
• Cost centres allocation models and stakeholder reporting in technology operations
