A lodge in KwaZulu-Natal is looking for a passionate and knowledgeable Field Guide to deliver exceptional wildlife experiences for guests. The successful candidate will conduct guided game drives share knowledge of the natural environment and contribute to the overall guest experience at the lodge.
Conduct morning and late afternoon/evening game drives for guests
Provide informative and engaging wildlife interpretations
Ensure the safety of guests always during activities
Prepare vehicles before drives and wash/clean vehicles after use
Assist with hot box preparation and drive refreshments
Maintain guiding equipment and vehicles in good condition
Assist with general lodge duties when required
Uphold high standards of hospitality and guest service
Requirements
MUST SPEAK FRENCH
Valid Field Guide qualification (NQF 2) NQF 4 advantageous Min 1 years experience
Valid drivers license and PDP
First Aid certification
Strong knowledge of wildlife ecology and conservation
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Professional well-presented and guest-focused
Ability to work long hours in outdoor conditions
Team player with a positive attitude

Required Skills:
MUST SPEAK FRENCH Minimum 3 years hands-on experience within a 45-star lodge safari camp or boutique hospitality environment. Previous experience in guest relations front office reservations or a similar hospitality role. Boutique or owner-run lodge experience advantageous. Valid Code 8 / B drivers licence. Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles. 4x4 driving experience advantageous. Willingness to live on-site and work flexible hours in line with operational requirements. Skills & Attributes Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills. Well-spoken articulate and confident interacting with international guests. Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence. Friendly personable professional and presentable. Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve problems effectively. Strong organisational and administrative skills. Confident using MS Office Google Workspace and PMS systems. Experience with ResRequest advantageous. Physically fit and comfortable standing or walking for extended periods.
