This role combines engineering expertise with business development enabling you to provide innovative automation and electrical solutions that improve our customers operational performance.
Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will identify new business opportunities build long-term client relationships develop technical proposals and support customers throughout the sales process. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical problem-solving with consultative selling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the industrial mining manufacturing utilities and process industries.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Conduct site visits to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate electrical and automation solutions.
- Prepare technical proposals quotations tenders and cost estimates.
- Promote electrical and automation products systems and turnkey solutions.
- Provide technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers.
- Work closely with engineering and project teams to develop customised solutions.
- Negotiate pricing contracts and commercial agreements.
- Manage the sales pipeline and achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
- Stay informed on industry trends competitor activities and emerging technologies.
- Support project handovers and ensure customer satisfaction throughout project execution.
- Maintain accurate CRM records forecasts and sales reports.
- Represent the company at industry events exhibitions and customer meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
- National Diploma BTech BEng or BSc in Electrical Engineering Mechatronics Automation Instrumentation or a related discipline.
- Minimum 35 years experience in technical sales within the electrical or industrial automation sector.
- Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems and automation technologies.
- Experience with one or more of the following is advantageous:
- PLCs (Siemens Allen-Bradley Schneider Omron)
- SCADA and HMI systems
- Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)
- Instrumentation and process control
- Industrial networking
- Motor control centres (MCCs)
- Low-voltage electrical distribution
- Experience preparing technical quotations and tenders.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Valid drivers licence and willingness to travel extensively.
