A respected engineering consultancy is seeking an Electrical Control & Instrumentation (E C & I) Engineer to join its growing engineering team in Centurion. This opportunity is ideal for a driven engineer with strong technical skills and a passion for delivering innovative engineering solutions across industrial and infrastructure projects.
The successful candidate will be involved in the design development implementation and commissioning of electrical control and instrumentation systems while working closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical control and instrumentation systems for industrial projects.
- Prepare engineering calculations technical specifications reports and design documentation.
- Develop control philosophies I/O schedules and instrumentation datasheets.
- Assist with PLC SCADA and automation-related projects.
- Perform electrical load calculations and power distribution designs.
- Review contractor documentation and vendor submissions.
- Participate in FATs SATs commissioning and site acceptance activities.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during project execution.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards regulations and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Minimum Requirements
- BEng or BTech Degree in Electrical Engineering Electronic Engineering Mechatronic Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience in an E C & I engineering role.
- Experience within a consulting engineering industrial mining manufacturing power or processing environment.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems instrumentation and process control.
- Understanding of PLC SCADA and automation systems.
- Proficiency in engineering design software and Microsoft Office.
- Strong technical analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Advantageous
- Exposure to industrial automation and process control projects.
- Experience with MCCs LV distribution drives and instrumentation systems.
- Experience with AutoCAD and related engineering design software.
- ECSA registration or progress towards professional registration.
