Job Summary
Are you a Design Manager with extensive experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within the mineral processing sector This role offers the opportunity to drive engineering excellence oversee complex project delivery and lead high-performing design teams within a dynamic project environment.
Job Description:
- Lead and oversee multidisciplinary engineering design and drafting activities across multiple projects
- Coordinate engineering resources to ensure deliverables are achieved within schedule and budget requirements
- Provide technical leadership throughout the design lifecycle from studies through to detailed engineering
- Review guide and approve engineering designs calculations and design developments
- Monitor team performance and provide ongoing support feedback and mentorship
- Ensure adherence to engineering procedures design standards quality requirements and change management processes
- Promote safety-in-design principles and technical integrity across all engineering activities
- Manage project progress and provide regular reporting to project stakeholders
- Drive collaboration across disciplines to achieve efficient and effective project execution
- Mentor engineers and designers supporting professional growth and succession planning initiatives
- Identify and implement innovative engineering solutions and continuous improvement opportunities
- Maintain strong client relationships and ensure delivery of high-quality solutions within agreed timeframes and budgets
Skills & Experience:
- 15 years experience in mineral processing or related heavy industrial sectors
- Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and design teams
- Strong understanding of engineering studies project execution detailed design and operational challenges
- Excellent project planning resource management and coordination skills
- Strong knowledge of risk management and engineering governance processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement effectively
- Excellent leadership mentoring and team development capabilities
- Strong commercial awareness and commitment to delivering quality outcomes
- Passion for innovation continuous improvement and new technologies
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally when required
Qualification:
- BEng / BSc Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) or equivalent
