Job Summary
Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with strong costing expertise and experience in the mining sector Our client a well-established open-cast mining operation based in Roodepoort is seeking a skilled Costing & Management Accountant to join their finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyse product operational and project costing reports.
- Monitor and control mining production costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop review and maintain budgets and forecasts.
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
- Analyse operational performance indicators and profitability metrics.
- Support strategic decision-making through financial modelling and analysis.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls.
- Assist with annual budgeting and audit processes.
- Work closely with operational managers to improve financial performance and cost efficiencies.
Minimum Requirements:
- Diploma or BCom Degree in Accounting Finance Cost & Management Accounting or a related field.
- 510 years experience in a Costing or Management Accounting role.
- Essential: Experience within the mining sector specifically open-cast mining operations.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles budgeting forecasting and financial analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Advantageous:
- CIMA qualification or studying towards CIMA.
- Experience in production costing and mine site reporting.
- Knowledge of mining operational processes and performance metrics.
