Job Description

A client is seeking an experienced Compensation & Benefits Manager to lead the development and implementation of innovative reward strategies that strengthen the Employee Value Proposition and support long-term business success. This opportunity is ideal for a commercially minded leader who combines strong financial acumen with deep expertise in compensation benefits governance and compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage annual salary budgets short-term and long-term incentive plans and retention programmes.
  • Lead the design and implementation of reward strategies that drive employee engagement retention and business performance.
  • Oversee executive remuneration and prepare proposals for remuneration committee review.
  • Manage pension fund surplus utilisation employee share ownership plans and benefit fund governance.
  • Conduct market benchmarking to ensure equitable and competitive remuneration practices.
  • Develop and maintain policies relating to retirement medical insured benefits and reward programmes.
  • Ensure compliance with labour legislation regulatory requirements audit standards and reporting obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders service providers regulatory bodies and industry partners.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum 10 years experience managing a Benefits Finance or Compensation function at senior management level.
  • Minimum 5 years experience within an HR Reward environment.
  • Strong knowledge of labour legislation including the LRA BCEA EEA and Employee Share Schemes.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets assess financial impacts and develop business cases for strategic recommendations.
  • Strong leadership stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
  • CA(SA) qualification and/or Global Rewards Practitioner Certification will be advantageous.
