The AWS Cloud DevOps Engineeris responsible fordesigning implementing andoptimizingcloud-native infrastructure and DevOps practices to enable scalable secure and high-performing applications on AWS.
This role plays a critical part in accelerating software delivery improving system reliability and driving automation across the development lifecycle. Working closely with engineering architecture and platform teams the AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer ensures that cloud environments are resilient cost-efficient and aligned to best practices.
The role requires a strong combination of cloud engineeringexpertise automation skills and a continuous improvement mindset to support modern agile and product-centric delivery models.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering
Design build andmaintainscalablehighly available and secure AWS cloud environments.
Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such asTerraform AWS CloudFormation or CDK.
Manage core AWS services including EC2 S3 RDS Lambda ECS/EKS VPC IAM and CloudFront.
DevOps & Automation
Design and implementCI/CD pipelinesusing tools such as AWSCodePipeline Jenkins GitHub Actions or GitLab CI.
Automate infrastructure provisioning application deployment and configuration management.
Promote DevOps best practices including continuous integration continuous delivery and continuous testing.
Cloud Operations & Reliability
Monitor system performance using tools such asCloudWatch Prometheus Grafana or Datadog.
Implement logging tracing and alerting to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response.
Support incident management root cause analysis and continuous improvement of system resilience.
Security & Compliance
Implement cloud security best practices including identity and access management (IAM) encryption and network security.
Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through automation and policy enforcement.
Embed security into the DevOps lifecycle (DevSecOpsprinciples).
Collaboration & Delivery
Work closely with software engineers architects and product teams to support application delivery.
Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog prioritizationand sprint delivery.
Providetechnical guidance on cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
Stay current with evolving AWS services and DevOps tooling.
Identifyopportunities to improve deployment speed reliability and developer experience.
Contribute to reusable frameworks templates and internal best practices.
Capabilities & Skills Required
Strong hands-on experience withAWS cloud services and architecture patterns.
ProficiencyinInfrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation CDK).
Experience withCI/CD pipelines automation and release management.
Solid understanding ofcontainerization and orchestration(Docker Kubernetes ECS/EKS).
Experience withscripting and programming languages(Python Bash or similar).
Knowledge ofmonitoring logging and observability practices.
Understanding ofcloud security networking and compliance.
Familiarity withAgile and DevOps methodologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Academic Qualifications & Certifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field preferred.
AWS certifications highly desirable such as:
AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional
AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate/Professional
Additionalcertifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or DevOps toolsadvantageous.
