Job Summary
Our client in the Communications Technology is seeking an API Developer (Senior) on a contract duration of 6 months.
Role Purpose
The Senior API Developer is responsible for designing building and maintaining secure scalable and high-performance APIs that expose enterprise data products analytical insights customer scores ADR datasets and machine learning outputs. The role enables controlled access to DataCos data and AI capabilities through well-governed API services that support internal systems partners and external consumers.Key Responsibilities
- Design develop and maintain secure RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs exposing enterprise data products insights and ML outputs.
- Build APIs for customer scores audience segments ADR datasets and analytical services.
- Ensure APIs are scalable high-performing and resilient under high-volume usage.
- Implement robust authentication authorisation and security controls (e.g. OAuth2 JWT API gateways).
- Develop API integration layers between data platforms ML services portals and external systems.
- Ensure APIs are well-documented versioned and compliant with enterprise governance standards.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects Data Engineers MLOps Engineers Platform Engineers and Full-Stack Developers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
- Optimise API performance latency and throughput for real-time and batch consumption scenarios.
- Support monitoring logging troubleshooting and incident resolution for production APIs.
- Ensure compliance with data privacy security and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in Agile delivery ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering or a related field.
- 510 years experience in API development backend engineering or software engineering roles.
- Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services.
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Python or Go.
- Experience with API management platforms (e.g. Apigee Azure API Management Kong or similar).
- Strong understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience integrating with data platforms ML services and cloud-based systems.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure AWS or Google Cloud Platform is advantageous.
