Job Summary
A busy and well-established manufacturing business in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Accountant on a short-term contract. The role will support the finance function during a critical period ensuring accurate reconciliations and strong financial controls. This position requires a hands-on individual who can operate effectively in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and managing banking processes. A high level of confidentiality and attention to detail is essential.
- Maintain and reconcile trial balance accounts monthly
- Process weekly banking documentation within strict deadlines
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for local and foreign accounts
- Monitor cash balances and manage local and foreign liquidity
- Transfer excess funds and support treasury-related activities
- Coordinate foreign currency transactions prior to payments
- Process petty cash transactions where applicable
- Verify supplier payments are correctly matched to invoices on a weekly basis
- Review monthly supplier reconciliations within prescribed deadlines
- Validate GRV account matching for the prior month
- Investigate and resolve supplier queries and reconciling items promptly
- Maintain accurate customer and supplier master data including FICA compliance
- Submit new supplier/customer details for approval prior to system activation
- Liaise with suppliers on credit applications and account-related queries
- Ensure all banking supplier and customer documentation is properly filed (electronic and manual)
Skills & Experience:
- SAGE X3 Beneficial Beneficial
Qualification:
- Finance-related degree
- SAICA/SAIPA Completed
