This expansion allows us to meet the changing needs of our domestic and international (OEM) customers in the semiconductor analytical and medical industries.
About the role
We build software at the intersection of precision hardware and high-stakes production control systems for semiconductor equipment data analytics platforms that help fabs improve yield and process stability. Our clients include leading international OEMs and Chinas most ambitious domestic wafer manufacturers.
As a Software Tech Lead you will own both technical execution and practical project delivery for the team. You are expected to understand the software architecture guide implementation decisions support the development team technically and also take responsibility for planning progress tracking risk follow-up scope coordination and client-facing communication. You will work closely with Software Architects developers and client stakeholders to ensure that complex semiconductor software projects are delivered with technical quality realistic commitments and clear alignment.
What youll do
Internal technical leadership and project delivery ownership
Lead the technical breakdown of software requirements into clear implementation tasks acceptance criteria risks and dependencies
Guide software design and implementation decisions ensuring alignment with architecture maintainability integration constraints and delivery priorities
Support developers in resolving technical issues reviewing approaches identifying root causes and removing engineering blockers
Own practical project management activities within the team including delivery planning task tracking milestone follow-up dependency management risk escalation and coordination of actions needed to meet commitments
Build realistic technical delivery plans with the team track progress against commitments communicate status clearly and adjust priorities when scope risks or dependencies change
Maintain technical clarity through design notes decision logs interface assumptions action items and acceptance criteria
External technical communication scope coordination and stakeholder alignment
Act as a technical counterpart for international OEM clients and domestic fab customers across the Asia region especially during requirement clarification integration discussions and delivery reviews
Translate technical constraints design trade-offs risks and implementation progress into clear language for client stakeholders and project teams
Lead scope feasibility schedule and change-impact discussions from a technical delivery perspective helping stakeholders understand realistic commitments engineering trade-offs priority choices and risks
Facilitate technical meetings design reviews issue triage sessions and integration discussions while keeping decisions and follow-ups concrete
Collaborate with Software Architects during pre-sales and project ramp-up to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound and deliverable
Job requirements
5 years of software development experience including experience leading technical delivery or guiding a small engineering team
Solid software programming background with the ability to read discuss and challenge software designs and implementation approaches
Experience with software architecture debugging integration code review and technical decision-making in complex software systems
Ability to understand technical details deeply enough to guide developers identify risks explain trade-offs and align engineering work with delivery commitments
Ability to manage practical project delivery activities such as planning progress tracking milestone follow-up risk management dependency coordination and clear stakeholder communication
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage given our client mix
Eligible to work in Singapore
Preferred
Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing concepts including process flows equipment types and industry standards such as SECS/GEM and GEM300
Experience with equipment control software factory host communication motion control machine vision SCADA/MES integration or other industrial automation software domains
Hands-on experience with programming languages commonly used in industrial or equipment software environments such as C C# Java Python or similar technologies
Experience coordinating across multi-site engineering teams in Asia including Singapore Vietnam and China
Scrum Master certification PMP or equivalent delivery/project management experience is a plus but not a substitute for software technical leadership capability
What this role is not
This is not a pure project management role and not a pure coding role. The successful candidate must combine software technical leadership with practical project ownership. They should be comfortable discussing software design implementation trade-offs integration risks technical dependencies schedules scope priorities and delivery commitments with engineers architects and clients. You do not need to be the sole architect but you must be strong enough technically to guide execution and disciplined enough to drive follow-up coordination and delivery closure.
Why this role
Technical leadership in a demanding semiconductor software domain requires both engineering depth and delivery awareness. The problems are complex the clients are sophisticated and the margin for misunderstanding is low. You will stay close to the software guide the team through technical decisions develop genuine domain knowledge and have visible influence over what ships and how well it works.
We welcome candidates from industrial automation scientific instrumentation or other precision-engineering software domains deep semiconductor experience is not a prerequisite.
