As thePrincipal Production Technical OperationsunderMolding & Tooling Department you will provide technical expertise and engineering support in injection molding processes for contact lens manufacturing ensuring stable production high product quality and compliance with regulatory standards. Lead and support activities related to technical transfer process optimization troubleshooting and qualification of equipment and materials.
In this role a typical day will include:
- Responsible for sustaining molding performance through yield defect and process capability monitoring
- Analyze lens data and provide solution for sustainable performance
- Define new key parameters through DOE engineering studies statistical tools for process improvement
- Lead and support investigation relating to mold related issues using tools such as RCA DOE CAPA
- Lead or support cross-site transfer project and ensure smooth and successful production ramp up
- Establish or support successful equipment and process qualification of molding and tooling related equipment (IOPQ)
- Evaluate and qualify new resin tools and equipment for optimization/cost saving
- Comply with all policies and standards such as but not limited to ISO 13485 HSEGMP FDA and Alcon Corporate Policy
- Perform other duties as assigned
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Process yield scrap rate and defect reduction
- Process capability (Ppk/Cpk)
- Equipment uptime / OEE impact
- On-time completion of validation and transfer milestones
- Audit compliance (no major findings)
- Continuous improvement deliverables (cost efficiency quality)
WHAT YOULL BRING TO ALCON:
- Minimum: Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Material) or Science (Physics Chemistry Material) or equivalent.
- Desirable: Masters degree and above in Engineering or Science of relevant discipline
- Min 8 years of experience in contact lens manufacturing
- Able to troubleshoot molding and lens related issues/ defects
- Experience in defining new molding process and optimisation of existing process
