Principal Data Solutions Architect, AGS-ASEAN Specialist Team

The ASEAN Specialist team at AWS is hiring a Principal Data Transformation Architect to partner with our most strategic enterprise customers across the region. Youll serve as a trusted transformation advisor - combining deep technical expertise in data platforms analytics and AI/ML with strategic business acumen to drive enterprise-wide platform decisions and transformation outcomes. Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) This is a role within Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS). AWS Sales Marketing and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue adoption and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

Key job responsibilities
As a Principal Data Transformation Architect in the ASEAN Specialist Team you bring deep expertise in enterprise data architecture analytics modernisation and AI/ML that will help us address the strategic transformation needs of our largest customers. You will be the go-to person for driving data and AI platform decisions at the executive this role you will be:

- Serving as the primary transformation architect for C-suite executives (CIOs CDOs CTOs) driving strategic platform decisions through deep business understanding and technical conviction.

- Leading complex data and AI transformation initiatives spanning data platform migrations analytics modernisation and generative AI adoption across ASEANs most strategic enterprises.

- Architecting solutions that address immediate needs while building foundations for long-term success including developing reference architectures and establishing data governance frameworks.

- Driving competitive platform migrations and securing strategic commitments from enterprise accounts.

- Developing transformation methodologies and reusable patterns that can be applied across the region to scale impact.

A day in the life
What does a day in the life of a Data Transformation Architect look like You will:

- Engage directly with C-suite executives to align transformation roadmaps with business outcomes and drive strategic platform decisions in AWSs favour.

- Navigate complex competitive dynamics with incumbent data platforms articulating AWSs differentiated value for enterprise data and AI workloads.

- Architect end-to-end data and AI solutions - spanning data lakes analytics machine learning and generative AI - tailored to customer business context and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct executive advisory reviews with senior data and AI leaders focusing on transformation progress and strategic commitments.

- Collaborate with field teams in-country specialist SAs and account teams to orchestrate execution and ensure sustained customer success.

- Coach and uplift the broader SA team by establishing the strategic and technical bar for complex customer engagements.

- Create mechanisms - transformation frameworks reference architectures and enablement content - that help you scale proven patterns across the region.

- Represent AWS at executive forums industry conferences and customer events.

About the team
The ASEAN Specialist Team is a group of domain experts who bring deep technical expertise across their respective technology areas. As a Specialist SA you operate across the full customer engagement lifecycle from early-stage strategic advisory to production-ready design serving as a trusted advisor to customers and a key contributor to ASEANs technology strategy. Youll work alongside specialists in data analytics AI/ML and application modernisation in a team that values builder culture intellectual curiosity and customer obsession.



- Knowledge of AWS or cloud technologies
- 15 years of experience in enterprise data architecture data engineering and analytics solution design.
- Demonstrated experience engaging and influencing C-suite executives (CIO CDO CTO) on technology strategy and transformation decisions.
- Deep understanding of modern data platforms including data lakes data warehouses streaming architectures and lakehouse patterns.
- Experience leading enterprise-scale data platform migrations or modernisation initiatives.
- Understanding of data governance data sovereignty and regulatory compliance frameworks relevant to ASEAN markets.

- Experience leading large enterprise transformations with AWS/cloud services
- Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies including model development lifecycle MLOps and generative AI foundations with the ability to bring in AI where suitable to complement data and analytics initiatives.
- Experience driving competitive platform migrations from incumbent data platforms (e.g. Teradata Oracle Cloudera Snowflake Databricks) to AWS.
- Track record of influencing large customer pursuits through strategic advisory and transformation initiatives.
- Experience working across multiple ASEAN markets with an understanding of regional business dynamics and regulatory landscapes.
- Industry/Cloud certifications including AWS certifications (e.g. Data Analytics Specialty Machine Learning Specialty Solutions Architect Professional).
- Technology breadth including understanding of analytics AI/ML data engineering and modern application architectures.
