Job Description/Preferred Qualifications
We are seeking a detail-oriented PCB Layout Engineer to design and develop high-quality printed circuit board (PCB) layouts for complex electronic systems. This role will work closely with electrical mechanical and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet performance reliability and manufacturability requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and layout multi-layer high-density PCB boards including component placement and signal routing
- Translate schematics into manufacturable PCB designs with strong focus on signal integrity power integrity and thermal performance
- Define stack-ups impedance control and routing constraints for high-speed designs (e.g. DDR PCIe SERDES)
- Generate complete PCB fabrication and assembly packages (Gerber ODB drawings BOM)
- Perform design rule checks (DRC) validation and troubleshooting of PCB layouts
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to understand design requirements and system constraints
- Work with manufacturers and suppliers to ensure DFM/DFA compliance and successful production builds
- Support prototype bring-up debugging and layout optimization for cost performance and yield
- Maintain design documentation libraries and revision control
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Electronics or related field
38 years of experience in PCB layout/design (level dependent)
Strong proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g. Cadence Allegro Altium Designer Mentor or Zuken)
Solid understanding of:
- High-speed digital design
- Signal integrity (SI) / power integrity (PI)
- EMC/EMI mitigation techniques
Experience with multi-layer high-density boards and modern fabrication processes
Familiarity wit
PCB layout and routing expertise
CAD/EDA proficiency
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Cross-functional collaboration (EE ME manufacturing)
Attention to detail and documentation discipline
Experience with complex systems (industrial semiconductor tools automotive or high-reliability electronics)
Knowledge of DFM/DFT best practices and cost optimization strategies
Experience with board bring-up validation and failure analysis
IPC CID certification or equivalent
