This is a 12-months fixed term contract role (subject to extension).

What will you do

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Junior Full Stack Developer to join our development this role you will design develop test and maintain modern web applications using NodeJS and ReactJS while developing capabilities in GovTech platform configuration and requirements gathering. You will work closely with experienced engineers and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into practical solutions and deliver high-quality scalable applications.Selected candidates may also receive training on enterprise platforms used in government digital service delivery gaining hands-on experience in platform configuration and engagement with government agency stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain web applications using NodeJS and ReactJS under the guidance of senior team members.
• Assist in translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Write clean maintainable and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs.
• Participate in debugging troubleshooting and resolving application issues.
• Perform unit testing and support integration and user acceptance testing.
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback to improve code quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Business Analysts QA Engineers UI/UX Designers and DevOps engineers.
• Engage with business/agency users to gather and clarify requirements where assigned to configuration or BA-adjacent work.
• Assist in maintaining application performance security and scalability.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups sprint planning and retrospectives.

Education

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Software Engineering Information Technology or a related discipline.

Experience

• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
• Up to 1 year of experience in software development or business analysis is preferred.
• Internship final-year projects or personal projects using NodeJS and ReactJS will be an advantage.

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of JavaScript (ES6) and TypeScript.
• Basic knowledge of ReactJS NodeJS and ExpressJS.
• Understanding of HTML5 and CSS3.
• Basic understanding of RESTful APIs good conceptual grasp of how APIs work is valued even for non-coding config work.
• Basic knowledge of Git or other version control systems.
• Familiarity with relational databases (PostgreSQL MySQL SQL Server) is an advantage.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure or AWS) is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.

Soft Skills

• Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills.
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Comfortable engaging with business users and picking up requirement-gathering skills over time an area we place good emphasis on as part of the roles growth path.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated with a positive attitude comfortable operating with some ambiguity.
• Attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work.
