Purpose of the role
The Global Account Manager (GAM) is responsible for managing one or more of DSVs Global Accounts or Sub-Division of a Global Account ( Logistics dependent on need) focusing on driving share of wallet long-term retention and strategic growth. The role leads the execution of account strategies and fosters strong commercial relationships across all DSV divisions and geographies. Operating as the commercial point of contact the role develops global account plans in collaboration with the Account Executive and translates them into scalable customer-centricsolutions. The role ensures commercialalignment and strategic direction across geographies while identifying and acting on emerging opportunities and risks to drive customer satisfaction and business results.
Key tasks / responsibilities
Financial
- Manage global revenue and gross profit growth across assigned A accounts
- Maintain and expand share of wallet and number of sites through cross-selling upselling and customerretention
Strategic
- Develop and implement global account strategies aligned with DSVs objectives and customer needs
- Translate global strategy into regional action plans and ensure local execution through regional KAMs
- Leverage vertical knowledge industry insights and data to shape customer direction and value propositions Customer Relationship Building
- Build and manage executive-level relationships and act as primary global contact
- Identify new growth opportunities and coordinate internally to deliver tailored solutions
- Act as escalation point for strategic contractual or commercial matters
- Lead and contribute to tender responses and renewal negotiations for global agreements
Operational
- Oversee governance structures including global QBRs and regular performance reviews
- Monitor end-to-end service performance and coordinate with operational teams on critical issues
- Align KPI frameworks with customer expectations and ensure tracking across regions
- Motivate and drive strategic improvement projects within the region to foster an integrated supply chain DSV Collaboration
- Coordinate internal market involvement and global account teams / resources (incl. regional/local KAMs operations tender) while sharing customer feedback and insights with product vertical and regional leads
- Ensure CRM accuracy and manage global opportunity pipelines.

- Skilled in driving strategic account growth through consultative value-based negotiation
- Expert in global account management and execution of strategic customer lifecyle management
- Capable of influencing senior stakeholders and steering complex end-to-end commercial engagements
- Skilled in contract negotiations and educated in the DSV legal policies
Customer Relationship Management
- Builds and sustains executive relationships and navigates cross-cultural dynamics to secure long-term partnerships and align customer and internal priorities
- Acts as the primary commercial contact across global business functions and locations
Product and Service Knowledge
- Strong command of DSVs integrated logistics offerings and the translation into customer-specific solutions
- Advises on scalable customized logistics strategies aligned with customer needs and business objectives
- In-depth knowledge of DSVs logistics services across all divisions including regional strengths
Pipeline CRM & Market Insights
- Uses CRM and performance dashboards to drive opportunity visibility forecasting and pipeline conversion
- Applies industry trends vertical insights and customer-specific intelligence to shape strategy
- Identifies emerging needs and proactively shares data-driven recommendations for account development
- Represents DSV a thought leader in the respective subvertical
