Job Summary
The Critical Facilities Engineer II supports the operation and maintenance of mission-critical data center infrastructure. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience across facility systems while building foundational technical skills in a highly reliable and safety-focused environment. Working alongside experienced engineers the role supports routine maintenance monitoring and operational activities that help ensure continuous data center operations and infrastructure availability.
Responsibilities
Facility / Infrastructure Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance activities on facility systems and equipment.
- Assist with repairs inspections and maintenance activities across critical facility infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and support alarm response activities by following established procedures.
- Support the operation of electrical mechanical cooling plumbing fire suppression and life-safety systems.
- Follow safety procedures and operational standards while developing technical knowledge and practical experience in a data center environment.
- Work closely with experienced engineers and operational teams to support reliable site operations.
- Assist with maintenance activities inspections and operational projects while gaining hands-on experience.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to build technical and operational knowledge.
- Contribute to a team culture focused on safety continuous learning and operational excellence.
Education & Experience
- Higher Nitec or Diploma in an Engineering or related field preferred.
- 02 years of experience in facilities maintenance engineering support building operations industrial operations or a related technical environment.
- Candidates with relevant internships apprenticeships military technical experience or technical education are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to perform hands-on operational and maintenance tasks within a data center environment.
- Ability to work at height and in confined or tight spaces where required.
- Ability to work non-standard hours including weekends night shifts public holidays and shift-based schedules to support 24x7 mission-critical data center operations.
