Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Shipment Coordination & Tracking

  • Plan schedule and monitor all inbound shipments (air ocean & courier) to ensure timely arrival.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm pickup dates shipping documents and compliance with routing guides.
  • Track shipments in transit proactively identifying delays and implementing recovery plans.
  • Manage import/export documentation (e.g. bills of lading commercial invoices packing lists certificates of origin).

Supplier & Carrier Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for suppliers regarding logistics execution.
  • Evaluate carrier performance (on-time pickup/delivery damage rates invoicing accuracy) and provide feedback.
  • Resolve shipment discrepancies damages or short shipments with carriers and suppliers.
  • Coordinate with warehouse teams on dock scheduling receiving capacity and priority unloading.

Compliance & Cost Optimization

  • Ensure all inbound shipments comply with international trade regulations (customs tariffs denied party screening).
  • Work with customs brokers to classify products (HS codes) and clear shipments efficiently.
  • Analyze freight spend identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g. consolidation mode shifting) and report KPIs.
  • Manage claims for lost or damaged freight.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce lead times lower costs and increase visibility.
  • Participate in root cause analysis for recurring logistics issues.
  • Stay current on logistics technology regulations and market trends.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in supply chain management Logistics Business or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 24 years of experience in logistics freight forwarding or supply chain operations specifically focused on inbound movements.
  • Experience with international shipping (import/export) and domestic LTL/FTL.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in ERP/WMS systems and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables VLOOKUP data analysis).
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 customs documentation and hazardous materials (hazmat) regulations is desirable.

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making under time pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) for cross-functional and supplier-facing interactions.
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
