Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Transport Engineer to join our Traffic Engineering and Strategic Advisory Business Unit in the Middle East. The ideal candidate will be a degree-qualified professional with 1215 years of experience in transport planning and traffic engineering within the Middle East bringing strong technical expertise and leadership capabilities.
Your role
- Lead and deliver transport planning and traffic engineering projects from concept through to execution.
- Oversee the design analysis and optimization of traffic systems including signals signage and roadway networks.
- Conduct and review traffic impact studies simulations and data analysis to improve system efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement transport strategies traffic management plans and policies aligned with client and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including urban planners engineers contractors and government authorities.
- Ensure compliance with regional traffic regulations standards and best practices.
- Manage project scope timelines budgets and deliverables effectively.
- Provide technical leadership mentoring and guidance to junior engineers and team members.
- Stay updated with advancements in smart mobility solutions ITS and sustainable transportation systems.
About you
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering Transportation Engineering or a related discipline.
- 1215 years of experience in traffic engineering and transport planning preferably within the Middle East.
- Proven track record in leading complex and large-scale transportation projects.
- Strong expertise in traffic modeling tools such as Aimsun VISSIM Synchro or similar.
- In-depth understanding of traffic regulations safety standards and regional frameworks.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) smart mobility and sustainable transport initiatives.
