Maintenance Manager

Job Summary
The Maintenance Manager will be leading a team of maintenance technicians developing a Preventive Maintenance (PM) program overseeing the daily operations repair and upkeep of all fabrication equipment tools and facility infrastructure and managing external contractors to ensure maximum machine reliability and safety. The goal is to minimize unexpected breakdowns which directly impact project delivery and ensure all safety standards (e.g. OSHA) are met. Given the fast-paced custom nature of event fabrication this role requires a blend of hands-on technical repairs and strategic planning to support project deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
1. Maintenance Strategy & Execution
Preventive Maintenance (PM): Develop and implement a structured PM program for all production machinery including CNC routers welders saws and pneumatic tools.
Breakdown Management: Actively troubleshoot and resolve mechanical electrical hydraulic and pneumatic systems issues to minimize downtime.
Facility Upkeep: Manage the maintenance of the workshop building including lighting HVAC electrical systems and compressed air systems.
Expansion projects: Manage future expansion projects for the workshop
2. Team & Project Leadership
Supervision: Lead train and mentor maintenance staff/technicians.
Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with external contractors for specialized heavy or emergency repairs.
Inventory Control: Maintain an inventory of essential spare parts and tools managing procurement to ensure critical items are in stock.
3. Safety & Compliance
Safety Standards: Create a high-priority safety work environment enforcing all health and safety rules (OSHA/local regulations).
Inspections: Conduct daily or weekly facility walkthroughs and routine equipment inspections to identify potential hazards.
4. Administration & Budgeting
Budget Management: Create and adhere to the annual maintenance budget including CapEx projects.
Documentation: Record and track maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Qualifications :
Experience: 10 years of experience as a maintenance manager in industrial/manufacturing maintenance preferably in a custom fabrication environment.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical mechanical hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Fabrication Equipment: Direct experience with CNC routers laser cutters woodworking machines and metalworking equipment (welding/cutting).
Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team delegate tasks and motivate workers.
Skills: Proficiency in CMMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Education: Bachelors degree in mechatronics engineering.
Proactive solution-oriented mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Additional Information :
Typical Working Conditions
Environment: Must be able to work in a workshop environment which may include loud noise dust and heat with some on-site installation work.
Hours: May require working evenings weekends and holidays to meet event deadlines.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle tight deadlines and to work on site which may include lifting standing for long periods and working in varied conditions.
