Join us as Head of Contracts Management in our Transportation Project Delivery team and you will have the opportunity to develop and lead the contractual and commercial delivery of an exciting multi-disciplinary Transportation project. You will lead the contractual and commercial management on the PMCM Services for the Delivery of an iconic Metro Station in Riyadh collaborating across all stages of the project lifecycle with the Engineering and Construction supervision team and in close coordination with the D&B Contractor and from early stages until handing-over the project. The successful candidate will be have a senior leadership role for commercial strategy contract administration claims management cost control risk management and protection of the Client and Consultants organizations s commercial interests throughout the project life cycle.

Your role

  • Act as the PMCM representative for the Design and Engineering of the Project being accountable and leading all commercial and contractual aspects of the Project ensuring effective contract administration financial performance risk mitigation and protection of the organizations s commercial interests. The role is responsible for developing commercial strategies managing claims and disputes and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations while maximizing value for stakeholders.
  • Lead all commercial and contractual functions across the project lifecycle.
  • Provide strategic commercial and contractual advice to the Project Director the Client and the project leadership teams.
  • Lead the administration and interpretation of project contracts.
  • Develop and implement project commercial strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions client obligations and statutory requirements.
  • Review and negotiate major contract amendments variations and commercial agreements.
  • Ensure achievement of project financial objectives profitability targets and cash-flow requirements.
  • Establish commercial governance frameworks policies and procedures.
  • Monitor project performance against commercial KPIs.
  • Direct project cost planning budgeting forecasting and reporting activities.
  • Monitor project financial performance and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Ensure effective change management and variation control processes.
  • Review and approve cost reports cash-flow forecasts and financial analyses.
  • Identify assess and manage contractual and commercial risks.
  • Develop mitigation strategies to minimize financial and contractual exposure.
  • Maintain project risk registers related to commercial and contractual matters.
  • Advise senior management on emerging risks and recommended actions.
  • Ensure proactive opportunity management to enhance project returns.
  • Ensure timely preparation of executive commercial reports.
  • Analyze project trends forecasts and key financial indicators.
  • Provide recommendations to improve project efficiency and commercial performance.
  • Support project audits and governance reviews.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients joint venture partners contractors and government entities.
  • Participate in executive-level meetings and project governance reviews.
  • Support client negotiations and strategic decision-making processes.
  • Oversee contract correspondence and contractual communications with client DB Contractor and stakeholders.
  • Ensure proper contract documentation and records management.
  • Develop and execute claims management strategies.
  • Lead preparation evaluation and negotiation of claims counterclaims and extension of time submissions.
  • Manage dispute avoidance and resolution processes.
  • Coordinate with legal advisors consultants and external specialists on dispute matters.
  • Represent the organization during mediation arbitration adjudication or litigation proceedings.
  • Lead and mentor commercial and contract management teams.
  • Establish performance objectives and professional development plans.
  • Build a collaborative high-performance commercial organization.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and commercial best practices across projects.

About you

  • Bachelors Degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering Construction Management Law Commercial Management or related discipline.
  • Masters Degree in Construction Law Commercial Management Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Professional Certification(s) will be considered a plus.
  • Minimum 18 years of experience in PMCM engineering construction infrastructure or EPC projects.
  • Minimum 8-10 years in senior contract/commercial leadership roles.
  • Extensive experience with major infrastructure transportation or complex building projects.
  • Proven experience managing contracts valued in excess of USD 500 million.
  • Demonstrated success in claims management dispute resolution and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience working under FIDIC NEC EPC EPCM Design-Build or similar contract frameworks.
  • Talented people manager with line and performance management experience capable of driving and motivating a team and deploying resources (organisation/people).
  • Experience in managing complex stakeholder groups (internally and externally) with diverse outlooks opinions and /requirements.
  • Experience working in the KSA or wider Middle East region is preferred.
