Job Summary
Job Purpose
The Country Manager oversees one or more plants ensuring that each site complies with company standards and all local regulations particularly concerning Health Safety and Environment. The job holder must ensure operational efficiency optimize output and continually strive for improvement to achieve high standards that align with business requirements.
- Responsible for local procurement HSE Manufacturing Logistics/warehousing and QC/QA.
- Ensure production activities are executed effectively to meet quality efficiency and delivery targets.
- Efficiently control site resources including labor material and equipment to minimize manufacturing costs.
- Ensure continuous improvement activities are defined and well-implemented at each site.
- Ensure reject and scrap levels align with group standards.
- Implement preventive and corrective maintenance systems to minimize downtime optimize machine efficiency and maximize factory output.
- Ensure budget targets are met for each site and establish corrective action plans if performance falls behind.
- Develop Capital Expenditure (Cap Ex) plans to meet strategic business needs.
- Identify and fully implement cost-saving and cost-control initiatives.
- Ensure Operations-related People & Culture policies are implemented covering performance management succession planning and people development.
- Guarantee that all sold products meet required quality standards.
- Drive Right First Time (RFT) levels to meet or exceed group standards.
- Minimize scrap and reject materials ensuring they are properly flagged and disposed of per company policies.
- Attend customer meetings to communicate production schedules address potential delays and clarify quality-related concerns providing direct support to sales and customer service teams.
- Present mitigation plans build customer confidence through transparency and manage client expectations effectively.
- Collaborate closely with sales planning and production teams to align operational capabilities with market demands and customer delivery timelines.
- Hold full financial responsibility for the assigned unit owning the Profit and Loss (P&L) statement.
- Meet revenue targets optimize Net Profit (NP) manage operational costs and align financial performance with approved budgets.
- Execute strategic financial planning and report timely to senior management.
- Ensure cross-functional alignment across all departments within the GeoMarketsuch as Operations Sales Supply Chain HSSE Finance and Project Managementto drive overall business performance and strategic execution.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
- Foster a safety culture by ensuring all staff comply with HSE policies and procedures.
- Drive housekeeping (5S) and HSE performance across assigned sites.
- Comply with relevant safety quality and environmental control procedures.
- Promptly investigate and report unsafe acts incidents or safety violations ensuring corrective actions are identified and implemented.
- Bachelors degree in business administration Supply Chain engineering or equivalent.
- A minimum of 5 years of successful experience managing a large site.
- 6 Sigma experience (Green Belt or above preferred).
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Over 10 years of total experience in supply chain management and operations roles with a preference for the Chemical industry.
- Experience working within a Global Matrix organisation with multiple reporting lines.
- Strong capability to write and/or review financial statements.
- Process-driven with strong analytical skills.
- Strong focus on Safety.
- Solid background in decision support and systems technical skills.
