Barista

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee tea and specialty beverages while delivering exceptional guest service in accordance with the hotels standards. The role ensures consistency in beverage preparation maintains a clean and organized work environment manages daily café operations and contributes to creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall guest experience.

Beverage Preparation

• Prepare and serve coffee espresso-based beverages teas and other specialty drinks according to established recipes and presentation standards.
• Ensure consistency in beverage quality taste and presentation.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines coffee grinders blenders and other café equipment.
• Prepare non-coffee beverages and light food items where applicable.
• Monitor beverage quality and immediately address any inconsistencies.

Guest Service

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly attentive and personalized service.
• Take customer orders accurately and process payments using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
• Recommend beverages and menu items while promoting upselling opportunities.
• Respond professionally to guest inquiries feedback and complaints.
• Build positive guest relationships by creating a memorable café experience.

Café Operations

• Set up and prepare the coffee station before opening.
• Replenish coffee beans milk syrups cups and other operating supplies.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to the supervisor.
• Ensure all opening and closing procedures are completed accurately.
• Assist in receiving and storing café supplies following FIFO (First In First Out) principles.

Food Safety & Hygiene

• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of coffee equipment counters workstations and seating areas.
• Follow food safety hygiene and HACCP standards at all times.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of food and beverage products.
• Perform regular cleaning of espresso machines grinders refrigerators and related equipment.
• Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

Cash Handling & Administration

• Process guest transactions accurately using the POS system.
• Handle cash credit card and other payment methods according to hotel procedures.
• Balance cash float and complete end-of-shift reconciliation where required.
• Maintain accurate records of sales and inventory usage.

Collaboration

• Work closely with the Food & Beverage team and kitchen to ensure smooth service.
• Support colleagues during busy periods and special events.
• Assist with café promotions seasonal menus and new beverage launches.
• Participate in team briefings training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications :

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Barista certification or coffee training is an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 12 years of experience as a Barista in a café restaurant hotel or specialty coffee shop.
• Hospitality hotel experience is preferred.
• Pre-opening experience is an advantage.
