Job Summary

About the Role

The Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the engineering and technical aspects of construction projects ensuring that work is executed in accordance with approved designs quality standards budgets and project timelines. The ideal candidate must possess strong leadership capabilities extensive construction experience and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams on complex infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities


Plan coordinate and supervise all engineering activities related to construction projects.
Oversee project execution and ensure compliance with technical specifications engineering standards and project requirements.
Review and interpret engineering drawings designs specifications and contract documents.
Monitor project schedules resources and deliverables to ensure timely completion of works.
Coordinate and manage contractors consultants subcontractors and project stakeholders.
Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality control safety compliance and adherence to approved construction methodologies.
Identify technical challenges and implement practical engineering solutions to minimize project risks.
Prepare project progress reports technical documentation and management updates.
Support project budgeting forecasting cost control and resource planning activities.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory environmental and safety requirements.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project performance and operational efficiency.




Requirements

Requirements


Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Masters Degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management Project Management or a related field is mandatory.
Minimum of 10 years of proven experience in the construction industry with significant experience managing large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
Must be a registered and certified member of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
Additional professional certifications in Project Management Construction Management or related disciplines will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies engineering principles project planning and contract administration.

Required Skills:

. Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. Minimum of 5 years of experience with a strong focus on road construction. Registered with relevant engineering bodies (e.g. COREN NSE or equivalent international licensing). Deep knowledge of construction methods materials and regulatory standards in road infrastructure. Strong leadership team coordination and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and project documentation abilities. Proficiency in engineering and design software (e.g. AutoCAD Civil 3D MS Project). Willingness to travel and work across project sites in Nigeria.


Required Education:
