Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled hygienic and reliable Cook / Caterer to manage meal preparation and catering services within a healthcare/medical facility.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious well-balanced meals in line with hygiene and food safety standards ensuring high-quality service for staff patients and visitors where applicable. Experience in institutional or healthcare catering is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and dietary requirements
• Ensure strict adherence to food hygiene safety and sanitation standards
• Plan daily meal schedules and ensure timely food preparation and serving
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment utensils and food preparation areas
• Monitor food stock levels and report shortages to management
• Properly store food items to prevent spoilage and contamination
• Assist in menu planning especially for special dietary or patient meal needs
• Ensure proper portion control and food quality consistency
• Dispose of waste in line with hygiene and environmental standards
• Comply with healthcare facility food safety policies and regulations
• Support catering for staff meetings events and special functions when required

Requirements / Qualifications

• Minimum of Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent
• Professional culinary training or catering certification is an added advantage
• Minimum of 4 years experience as a cook or caterer (hospital hotel or institutional catering experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene safety and kitchen best practices
• Ability to prepare both local and continental dishes
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet meal schedules
• High level of cleanliness discipline and professionalism
