Job Summary
Were looking for a Labourer / Operator to join our road maintenance team in this role youll support a range of civil and roading activities including general labouring plant operation drainage pavement repairs and site preparation. Youll work closely with the crew to deliver safe efficient outcomes helping us maintain essential road networks and keep the regions roads safe and well maintained.

This role is focused on hands-on excavator operation across a range of site activities including earthworks trenching loading trucks site preparation and other tasks as required. Youll be responsible for operating excavation machinery safely and efficiently ensuring all work is completed to project specifications and in line with health and safety requirements.

- Complete all required documentation including timesheets job sheets pre-starts plant usage quality checklists and hazard IDs
- Support day-to-day site activities including manual labouring drainage works pavement repairs trenching and general maintenance tasks
- Operate plant and equipment safely and efficiently where required and within the scope of your licences and endorsements
- Assist with site preparation loading and unloading materials traffic support and housekeeping on site
- Communicate clearly with supervisors project managers clients and team members on progress issues and daily planning
- Monitor plant maintenance logbooks and servicing requirements
- Carry out equipment and machinery checks before use and report any faults or maintenance needs
- Take part in pre-start meetings and follow all safety environmental and quality processes

- Full class 2 or 4 license
- Current WTR endorsements
- Previous Excavator experience in civil construction
- Proven experience in operating excavators and other associated plant including earthworks site preparation and trenching
- Experience in running a crew including directing staff plant resources and subbies
