Job Summary
- Develop implement and continuously enhance the Groups Sustainability Strategy ESG governance framework and ESG data management processes.
- Lead climate change and decarbonisation initiatives including climate risk assessments GHG inventory management (Scopes 1 2 and 3) carbon reduction strategies Net Zero planning renewable energy initiatives and energy efficiency programmes.
- Oversee sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance including the Annual Sustainability Report Bursa Malaysia Sustainability Reporting requirements National Sustainability Reporting Framework (NSRF) IFRS S1 and IFRS S2 disclosures.
- Identify recommend implement and monitor sustainability initiatives that support the organisations ESG objectives.
- Manage the planning execution and administration of sustainability programmes including budgets resources and team coordination.
- Promote sustainability awareness by developing and delivering ESG training and engagement programmes for employees.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand sustainability priorities and incorporate stakeholder feedback into ESG strategies and policies.
- Conduct sustainability audits and support the development of quality management and assurance practices aligned with stakeholder expectations.
- Ensure compliance with the organisations integrated management systems including ISO 9001 ISO 14001 ISO 37001 ISO 39001 and ISO 45001 standards.
- Perform additional responsibilities and strategic initiatives as assigned by the Head of Division.
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science Sustainability Engineering Business Finance Economics or a related discipline.
- A Masters Degree or professional qualification is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in sustainability reporting ESG governance or ESG disclosure.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability reporting frameworks ESG standards and disclosure requirements.
- Excellent written verbal and presentation communication skills.
- Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- In-depth understanding of sustainability practices ESG principles and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ability to interpret research analyse complex information and translate findings into practical business recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization
Required Skills:
Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering Civil Engineering Renewable Energy or a related engineering discipline. Professional Engineer (PE/Ir.) certification will be considered an added advantage. Experience: Minimum of 815 years of relevant experience in hydroelectric power generation dam engineering or renewable energy projects. Proven experience in the development construction commissioning operation or maintenance of hydroelectric power plants. Hands-on experience with turbine-generator systems hydro-mechanical equipment electromechanical systems and balance-of-plant facilities is preferred. Experience in project management contract administration and stakeholder coordination is advantageous. Knowledge and Technical Competencies: Strong understanding of hydroelectric power generation systems plant operations and maintenance practices. Sound knowledge of turbines generators governors excitation systems protection systems SCADA and plant control systems. Good understanding of dam safety hydraulic structures water resource management and environmental compliance requirements. Familiarity with relevant engineering standards industry codes and statutory regulations. Proficiency in engineering analysis troubleshooting root cause investigation and technical report preparation. Strong knowledge of HSE requirements risk assessment and asset integrity management principles Behavioural Competencies: Excellent analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
