Job Summary
Plant Operations
Lead and oversee daily production activities including compounding granulation blending and packaging operations.
Ensure production targets quality standards and delivery schedules are consistently achieved.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity yield and operational efficiency.
Health Safety & Environment (HSE)
Champion a strong safety culture across the plant.
Ensure full compliance with OSHA DOE and other relevant environmental and safety regulations.
Oversee safe handling storage and transportation of hazardous chemicals including ammonia nitrates and other chemical raw materials.
Lead incident investigations risk assessments emergency response planning and corrective action implementation.
Maintenance & Engineering
Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
Manage plant engineering activities utilities and capital expenditure (CapEx) projects.
Coordinate equipment upgrades expansions and facility improvement initiatives.
Financial & Supply Chain Management
Manage the plants operating budget production costs and profitability.
Monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
Coordinate with procurement planning and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted raw material supply and efficient inventory management.
Leadership & People Management
Lead coach and develop production supervisors engineers maintenance personnel and plant operators.
Build a high-performance accountable and safety-focused workforce.
Foster collaboration across operations engineering quality and commercial teams.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 810 years of experience in heavy manufacturing with 35 years in a plant leadership role within the fertilizer chemical petrochemical or process industry.
- Proven experience managing end-to-end plant operations including production maintenance and HSE.
- Strong knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) OSHA and environmental compliance.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma TPM or other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Solid understanding of production planning maintenance quality supply chain and P&L management.
- Strong leadership communication crisis management and decision-making skills.
