About the role:
We are seeking an experienced MySQL Database Administrator to manage optimise and support critical database environments while ensuring high availability performance and automation across infrastructure operations.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support MySQL databases on Linux platforms
- Perform routine maintenance optimisation troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Execute backup and restore operations to safeguard data integrity
- Design and refine physical database architecture for reliability
- Implement fault-tolerant and distributed database mechanisms
- Estimate monitor and plan database capacity requirements
- Apply Linux system administration skills to support database operations
- Enhance system reliability through automation and configuration management
- Support infrastructure stability within data centre environments
Requirements
Must-have:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MySQL database administration on Linux
- Strong understanding of database optimisation tuning and troubleshooting techniques
- Hands-on experience with InnoDB Cluster
- Experience managing backup and restore operations
- Familiarity with Linux system administration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder collaboration abilities
- Proactive mindset with willingness to learn and adapt
- Experience supporting enterprise or large-scale infrastructure environments
- Malaysian Citizen only

Nice-to-have:
- Experience with Ansible or configuration management tools
