Job Purpose

The Consultant - Test Automation plays a key role in designing developing and maintaining automated test scripts and frameworks. This role involves handson automation work active participation in Agile teams and contributing to improving overall test quality and efficiency. The engineer is expected to work independently on assignments while supporting junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Develop enhance and maintain automated test scripts for new and existing functionalities.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of test automation frameworks and tools.
• Collaborate with developers product owners and QA team members to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Review and refactor test scripts to adhere to best coding practices and maintainability.
• Execute automated regression suites and analyze test failures providing detailed defect reports.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning standups and retrospectives.
• Use and manage test management and defect tracking tools like JIRA.
• Identify testing gaps risks and bottlenecks and propose solutions.
• Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using tools such as Maven Jenkins and Docker.
• Provide guidance and assistance to junior or interns when needed.
• Maintain clear and organized test artifacts documentation and reports.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelors degree Post Graduate Diploma Professional Degree in Information Technology Computer Science Mathematics or equivalent
• 1-2 years of experience in test automation using Selenium and frameworks such as Cucumber TestNG or JUnit with Java.

• Solid handson knowledge of automation concepts scripting standards and framework structures.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Maven Jenkins and Docker.
• Basic experience with JavaScript and PL/SQL (Oracle) is an advantage.
• Good understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive testing mindset.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with crossfunctional teams.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

• Basic understanding of test automation tools (e.g. Selenium) Java fundamentals and testing frameworks like TestNG/JUnit.
• Familiarity with Agile processes JIRA and willingness to learn CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
• Good analytical skills attention to detail and eagerness to learn from mid/senior team members.
