Our client a fast-growing technology organization in the Middle East is seeking a Senior PHP Developer to lead a high-impact system upgrade project.

This role focuses on migrating mission-critical applications from PHP 7.3 to PHP 8.3 ensuring performance optimization security compliance and long-term scalability.

• Lead migration of applications from PHP 7.3.33 to PHP 8.3

• Analyze legacy code to identify deprecated features and compatibility gaps

• Refactor and optimize codebase to align with PHP 8.x standards

• Upgrade frameworks libraries and dependencies for full compatibility

• Improve error handling typing and performance under PHP 8.x

• Collaborate with QA and development teams to validate system stability

• Ensure security performance and reliability post-migration

• Document technical changes resolutions and architectural decisions

• 57 years of professional PHP development experience

• Strong hands-on experience with PHP 7.x and PHP 8.3

• Proven track record migrating applications between major PHP versions

• Solid understanding of:

  • OOP principles

  • MVC architecture

  • Design patterns (Singleton Factory Repository Dependency Injection)

  • Algorithms and data structures

• Deep knowledge of:

  • PHP 8.x breaking changes & deprecated features

  • Error handling and performance optimization

• Strong SQL database experience (MSSQL preferred)

• Experience with REST APIs JSON integrations

• Proficiency with Git

• Ability to write clean maintainable production-grade code
