We are seeking a Registered Nurse: The opportunity to work on a 15 bed unit with both general and intermediate level patients. Challenging patient populations including abdominal and thoracic aneurysm repairs both open and endovascular carotid endarterectomies limb saving lytic therapies lower extremity bypasses and amputees. Nurses who work as a team and help one another succeed. Nurses who participate in shared governance with a unitbased council to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change. Nurses who are highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidencebased nursing practices into the unit culture. An environment that is patientandfamily focused including daily care team visits with the entire team but most important the patient as an active participant.Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in travelers profile: resume Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Experience: IMC/PCU/Step down experience required. ICU experience consider but must be willing to take IMC/step down and progressive patient populationTraveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years. Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or similar size hospital. Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks). Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. *Will consider candidates without WI or compact license but must apply for a temporary license under the Wisconsin Act 10 order within 48 hours of offer accepted and provide screenshot of application submitted. Traveler must complete this requirement prior to being cleared to start. BLS & ACLS must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY Reference Needs 2 references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only). TelemetryTraveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 23 weeks prior to start date. Floating Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the travelers competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Shift: 36 hrs/week Night 12 hr shiftsevery other weekend rotation holidays as operationally needed.
