UI5 BTP Node JS

UI5 is a development toolkit for creating HTML5based business applications. Its developed by SAP a German multinational software company.

BTP stands for SAP Business Technology Platform (formerly known as SAP Cloud Platform) which provides a range of services for building extending and running business applications in the cloud.

Node.js is an opensource crossplatform backend JavaScript runtime environment that runs on the V8 engine and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser.

When we talk about UI5 BTP Node.js we are referring to the use of Node.js in the SAP Business Technology Platform to build UI5 applications. Node.js can be used to create serverside services which can be consumed by UI5 applications.

For example you might write a Node.js script that retrieves data from a database processes it and then sends it to a UI5 application. The UI5 application then displays this data in a userfriendly way.

In the context of the SAP BTP Node.js can be used in combination with SAPs Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP) to rapidly build enterprise services and applications.
