Unit: CVIMU HVI

Day (7am - 7pm) and Night (7pm - 7am) Shifts Available

Shift: Three, 12-hour shifts

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4

Unit Description

As a part of the Heart and Vascular Institute at Medical center the Cardiovascular IMU team cares for critical patients who are recovering from post-surgical procedures such as CABG, MVR, and AVR. Along with recovery, nurses on this unit assist with a variety of drips and care management on a 3-4 patient ratio.

Opportunity to gain specialty experience to eventually float into the CVICU available.


Experience with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, cardiac care, or IMU population preferred.



Unit: CIMU HVI

Day (7am - 7pm) and Night (7pm - 7am) Shifts Available

Shift: Three, 12-hour shifts

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3-4

Beds: 38

Unit Description

The Cardiac Intermediate Unit cares for patients recovering from cardiac complications and surgical procedures.

Patient population: STEMI/NSTEMI, CHF, TAVR, S/P PCI, ablation, mitral clip.

Drips: Amiodarone, Heparin, Bumex, Lasix, Cardizem, Remodulin/Flolan, Milrinone.

Unit Accomplishments/Learning opportunities:

  • CCTN, CCRN, CVRN certification pathway



Unit: CVICU HVI

Day (7am - 7pm) and Night (7pm - 7am) Shifts Available

Shift: Three, 12-hour shifts

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1-2

Unit Description

The CVICU at TMC is a complex, fast-paced environment that excels at providing compassionate, collaborative, and efficient healthcare to post-surgical patients.

While admitting 3-6 OR patients daily, this team also manages many post-operative complications which may include the need for advanced cardiovascular device management. (CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, VAD)

This unit is medium-high acuity that cares for patients immediately after cardio-thoracic surgery such as:


  • CABG
  • Valve repairs/replacements
  • Open and endovascular aneurysm repairs
  • Vascular recovery
  • Thoracic procedures



Unit: Cardiac Care Unit (Cardiac ICU)

Day (7am - 7pm) and Night (7pm - 7am) Shifts Available

Shift: Three, 12-hour shifts

Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:1-2

Beds:

Unit Description

The Cardiac Care Unit provides care for patients recovering from Chronic Heart Failure, TAVR, STEMI, Cardiogenic Shock, Cardiac Arrest, and Post PCI procedures.

The Cardiac Care Unit is team-oriented across Cardiovascular and Heart Failure ICU Units and prioritizes family-centered physician support. With the support of this team, you will be challenged to think critically and learn something new every day.

Devices: IABP, Impella, CRRT, Tandem Heart. Artic Sun (hypothermia)
