    Trade Marketing Officer Job Description - FMCG Sector

    Job Title: Trade Marketing Officer (Mid-Senior)

    Department: Marketing

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Job Summary:

    The Trade Marketing Officer plays a crucial role in the FMCG sector, responsible for developing and executing effective marketing strategies to drive brand visibility, enhance product distribution, and achieve sales goals. In addition, this role will be pivotal in developing and executing marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, customer engagement, analyzing market trends, and managing promotional activities to strengthen the brand's presence in the market.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Trade Marketing Strategy Development:

    - Develop and implement comprehensive trade marketing strategies aligned with overall business objectives.

    - Collaborate with sales, marketing, and product teams to ensure trade marketing plans support sales targets and product launches.

    - Utilize data analytics to identify distribution gaps and channel development opportunities in the assigned categories and brand portfolio.

    2. Marketing Strategy Development:

    - Collaborate with the teams to define marketing objectives, strategies, and plans aligned with overall business goals.

    - Conduct thorough market research to identify consumer trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities.

    - Develop comprehensive marketing plans that encompass both traditional and digital marketing channels.

    3. Trade Program Execution:

    - Execution of trade marketing programs, promotions, and campaigns aligned with business objectives.

    - Coordinate with sales teams and distributors to ensure timely and accurate implementation of trade initiatives.

    4. Digital Marketing Execution:

    - Oversee the development and implementation of digital marketing campaigns, including social media, email marketing, content marketing, and paid advertising.

    - Lead the efforts of planning, establishing, and managing the digital channels.

    - Leverage digital platforms to engage with consumers, drive traffic, and increase online sales.

    5. Brand Management:

    - Uphold and enhance the brand's image and positioning in the market.

    - Develop branding guidelines and ensure consistent implementation across all marketing materials and campaigns.

    6. Channel Management:

    - Collaborate with sales teams to understand channel-specific requirements and develop tailored trade marketing plans.

    - Manage relationships with distributors and key retailers to ensure effective execution of trade programs.

    - Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activities to identify growth opportunities.

    - Conduct profitability analysis for each channel and account, and utilize data to recommend actions to improve sales efficiency.

    7. Promotional Activities:

    - Plan promotional campaigns, trade incentives, and activations to stimulate demand and increase product visibility.

    - Coordinate with sales teams to align promotions with customer needs and market trends.

    - Devise and execute effective product launch strategies to maximize product visibility and sales.

    - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling product messaging and promotional materials.

    - Monitor and evaluate the success of product campaigns, making data-driven adjustments as required.

    8. Merchandising and Displays:

    - Develop attractive in-store merchandising concepts and displays to enhance brand visibility and product positioning.

    - Ensure consistent brand presentation across various retail channels.

    9. Budget Management:

    - Manage the trade marketing budget effectively, optimizing resources to achieve maximum impact and ROI.

    - Monitor expenses related to trade marketing activities and ensure adherence to budget limits.

    10. Marketing Intelligence:

    - Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and consumer preferences to provide recommendations for adjustments to trade marketing strategies.

    - Design and maintain a competitive activity feedback report to track the frequency and types of promotions taking place in the various trade sectors, documenting such activities for analysis, reporting, and future referencing purposes.

    11. Performance Analysis:

    - Track and evaluate the effectiveness of trade marketing initiatives through key performance indicators (KPIs) and data analysis.

    - Generate reports to communicate results and make informed recommendations for future strategies.

    12. Reporting and Analytics:

    - Prepare regular reports on trade marketing activities, sales performance, and ROI analysis.

    - Utilize data to measure the success of trade marketing initiatives and make informed recommendations.

    Qualifications:

    - Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.

    - (3-5) years of relevant trade marketing experience within the FMCG sector.

    - Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills to foster relationships and collaborate effectively.

    - Proficiency in digital marketing tools, analytics platforms, and social media management.

    - Proven record of successful campaigns and business impact.

    - Strong understanding of trade marketing strategies, retail operations, and consumer behavior.

    - Demonstrated ability to work in a team, fostering collaboration and driving results.

    - Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and trends.

    - Effective communication and negotiation skills to build relationships with retail partners.

    - Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis.

    - Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop innovative trade marketing approaches.

    - Results-oriented mindset with a track record of achieving sales and marketing targets.
