Job Description

TechnicianPackaging will be responsible for the maintenance of all the equipment of the packaging section of
the plant in the shift to ensure the smooth operation of the equipment. This includes diagnosing packaging
equipment problems troubleshooting repairing complex (minor/major breakdown of highspeed equipments)
electronically controlled packaging palletizing equipment and related systems. Primary responsibility is to
ensure that the packaging line functions efficiently.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to)
1. To follow all the safety and compliance policies/procedures/systems of the company (C.A.R.E Commit
Access Recognize Encourage) program.
2. To commit comply support the Simplot Sustainability Strategy and work towards achieving the
sustainability targets of the company.
3. To follow all personnel and process safety guidelines while attending all kind of jobs in the shift.
4. To be responsible to execute predictive preventive and breakdown maintenance jobs of packaging
equipment as per instructions of shift team leader.
5. To get the work permit authorization by the shift team leader before starting any maintenance job.
6. To execute and complete preventive maintenance schedules on time for smooth functioning of all packaging
equipment.
7. Responsible for troubleshooting all kinds of mechanical electrical and instrumentation malfunctions and
breakdowns as well as performing repairs.
8. To attend & resolve the assigned maintenance job of packaging equipment within the standard time limit
set by the company i.e. TFFR Time For First Response OEE.
9. Responsible for optimizing efficiency of packaging section by adjusting machinery and equipment settings
mainly VFFS machines multi head weighers elevators conveyors pick & place system case maker machine
case packer machine printers bar code detection systems metal detectors defect analyser (Camera)
windingrewinding machine etc.
10. To control downtime by informing production team of routine preventive maintenance techniques and
monitor compliances.
11. To remove defective parts by dismantling machines using hoists cranes power & hand tools.
12. To determine changes in dimensional requirements of parts by inspecting used parts using measuring scale
callipers micrometres and other measuring instruments.
13. To fabricate repairable parts by using machine shop instruments and equipment.
14. To document mechanical service records.
15. To fill and submit the shift log sheet to the shift team leader with details of maintenance jobs handled
during the shift spare parts used time spent on each maintenance activity reason for stoppages etc.
16. To brief the highlights related to maintenance in packaging section in the shift to the shift team leader.
17. To complete or handover the maintenance jobs carried out in the shift. Should leave the duty only after the
handover of work responsibilities is done to the next shift.
18. To attend and contribute in the shift handovertakeover meetings between the team leaders along with the
maintenance crew at the end of the shift.
19. To actively participate in different programs trainings & initiatives taken by company from time to time.
20. Ensures proper food safety sanitation and cleaning procedures of all processing equipment and tools.
