Job Summary

The Technical Project Manager is the technical lead, responsible for achieving on time delivery, quality and cost throughout the project lifecycle. He or she will be the main Engineering interface with the Customer and other project stakeholders during the design approval process. He or she is also the main interface inside the organisation between the Engineering department and the rest of the functional areas (Project Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Safety, Testing, etc.) working in a project.

For the person hired in Pozna (Poland), we anticipate an initial 3-month training at CAF Group in Spain (Zaragoza).

Key Responsibilities and Challenges

  • Lead and coordinate the design team to deliver the scope of the engineering project so as to satisfy customer requirements while adhering to project budgets and schedules.
  • Lead customer design review process to ensure the design approval is achieved on time.
  • Submitting project deliverables and ensuring that they adhere to contract requirements and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with cross discipline team members of other functions (Project management, Procurement, Manufacturing...).
  • Monitor, control and report all related aspects of the project design consistent with the contract requirement and design approval progress, putting in place project management actions to attain established goals.

Qualifications

  • Master s degree in Engineering. Mechanical preferred.
  • Professional Project Management Certification from accredited institution is a plus.

Experience

  • Hands-on experience (>3 years) leading complex technical projects from start to finish.
  • Experience in a similar role in the railway sector is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent communication skills in Polish and English, both verbal and written. German and/or Spanish will be valuable.
  • Good at building relations and finding common views during challenging situations
  • Experience working in a high-level collaborative multicultural environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
  • Client-oriented. Knowledge, awareness and interest in the Client (internal and/or external) needs.
  • Results-oriented. Pro-active in the role and ability to focus activities towards achieving objectives.
  • Strong sense of personal accountability regarding decision-making and supervising department teams.
  • Able to stay motivated, positive and focussed whilst working in a pressured environment.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience establishing guidelines in these areas for others

Other requirements

  • Ability for frequent national and/or international travelling as per project needs.
