M Bar C Construction is a family owned and operated business known for the design and construction of solar and nonsolar carports and shade structures established in 2005. We are dedicated to providing only the highestquality carports and shade structures and perform primarily as a subcontractor while also performing full scope construction installing approximately 3040 megawatts of solar canopies annually. About the Job
The Strategic Design Manager Will:
Within the first 30 days and ongoing:
Learns M Bar Cs services processes procedures and purpose as well as its clients and its position in the industry. Builds rapport with internal staff as well as outsourced engineers.
Begins comprehensive lowerlevel training and conducts observational activities including a combination of shadowing and individual study with all teams. Engages in meetings and project submissions and is exposed to client needs.
By 30 days reviews prior completed projects and creates an organized virtual library for ease of reference.
Collaborates with the Program Directors and Sales teams on sales strategy negotiations and with outsourced Engineers to ensure approval of proposed plans.
Identifies relevant trade shows to attend across the next 12 months attendance and attends monthly and quarterly budget review meetings.
Within the next 36 months and ongoing:
Completes onboarding and conducts market research to understand competitors practices and identify potential costsaving opportunities.
Provides strategic input to product development and conducts thorough research to identify relevant information on requested projects and offers.
Assesses risk levels for potential projects or ongoing projects and brings those questions and thoughts to the Program Director for discussion.
Actively contributes by presenting innovative ideas challenging designs and proposing solutions that can lead to potential cost savings.
Encourages a creative and exploratory approach initially presenting ideas that might be seen as unconventional providing more data research and different approaches to test ideas that could help M Bar C.
Within the next 912 months and ongoing:
Possesses selfconfidence balanced with a respectful and professional demeanor demonstrated in the ability to connect with others and evidenced by stakeholders seeking their assistance and active engagement.
Plays a pivotal role in design coordination across all states and design conditions.
Your Qualification
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
EDUCATION SKILL EXPERIENCE:
2 years experience working in design efficiency and creation within the commercial and/or industrial construction industry highly preferred
Bachelors Degree from an accredited university with a degree in Mechanical Structural or Civil Engineering required
Demonstrated ability to successfully develop new products through market research required
Demonstrated ability to anticipate market needs through client communication required
Able to strategically respond and plan with customers regulatory agencies and members of the business community highly preferred
Demonstrates an intermediate understanding of design decisions and their impact on project cost and efficiency required
Flexible and proactive approach to project design and delivery with good organizational and project management skills a must
Strong written and verbal communication skills a must
Integral knowledge of the solar market and trends impacting its business with a preferred knowledge of Microsoft Office products required
Valid Professional Engineers license in the state of CA a big plus
Valid drivers license at the time of employment and must be maintained as a condition of continued employment required
